FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a Fun Pass?
A Fun Pass is a card that can be loaded with credits to be used in lieu of cash, scrip, tickets, or ride coupons.
How much does a Fun Pass cost?
The initial purchase of a Fun Pass costs $20 and must be purchased using a $20 bill. However, once you have a Fun Pass, you may add additional credits using a $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100 bill. A $20 Fun Pass gives you 200 credits.
What if I’m a parent and have two children with me, do all three of us need a Fun Pass?
We recommend that each person have his or her own Fun Pass; however, the Fun Pass may be shared with family and friends. If you have one Fun Pass and all three of you want to ride the Merry-Go-Round, the Fun Pass would have to be tapped three times on the scanner at the ride.
What if I don’t use all of the credits on my card at the carnival?
The credits remain on the Fun Pass and can be used at another participating E. K. Fernandez Shows event. For example, the Fun Pass purchased at the Maui County Carnival may be used at the Maui Fair or at the 50th State Fair on Oahu.
How do I know how many credits are on my Fun Pass?
There are kiosks throughout the carnival where you can scan your Fun Pass and see how many credits are on the card.
What if I lose my Fun Pass?
Always treat the Fun Pass as if it were cash. Losing a Fun Pass has the same consequence as losing a $20 bill.
Why can’t the Fun Pass be used to purchase food from the food trucks?
The food truck vendors are not part of the Fun Pass system and do not have the equipment to accept Fun Pass credits. However, the Fun Pass must be used to purchase food from the Fernandez food wagons and concessions such as the Pizza, Hamburger, Hot Dog, and confection wagons.
NOTE: Do not punch a hole in or bend the Fun Pass, as damaged Fun Passes cannot be read by the scanners and you will lose whatever credits were on the card.
